Our Founder and MD, Stephen Dobson, opened all the “Hollywood Bowl” Ten Pin Bowling Centres (fourteen in total) in the UK, with a team of Developers spending £30-35 Million in 18 months, in 1990-91.
Steve was responsible for attaining the Liquor Licence and all Site Services; from the Telecoms line/ services, Electricity, Gas, Water and Waste Services. Steve was the “On-Site” Development Manager; ensuring a Local Multi- Supply Chain, for all services and utilities supply contracts, and also collaborating with the Build Manager, ensuring that the Construction Company finished the “new-build” on time for the V.I.P. opening night.
Steve advertised all roles, and recruited the majority off Staff for each “Hollywood Bowl” and handed over to the Operation management Team, whilst moving on to the next new-build site (and sometimes juggling 2,3 or 4 sites at the same time).
Steve’s focus has always been building supply chain excellence with THE VERY BEST Service Providers and SaaS Procurement Excellence (an Industry Leader specialising in Energy Procurement and Utilities Supply Contracts Terms & Conditions).
Our Company Secretary and Director, Fran brings 40 years of Business experience; sharing knowledge in Operational Excellence in Commercial Cleaning Contracting, Food Production, Takeaway and Cafe Management, and 25 years experience in the Residential Care Industry (both E.M.I., Elderly Care and Adults with learning difficulties.
Fran has been “called-in” as a Business Turnaround Manager on a Consultancy basis to assist some of Taurus’s clients, to assist with Operational Excellence, Food & Hygeine, Lifting and Handling Practices, Food Preparation and business cleaning services to ensure our clients can repair their reputation and move forwards with a better run business, and meet all Industry Standards, like CQC, Environmental Health, Food & Hygiene and Lifting & Handling Training, as Frances is either qualified or highly experienced in many fields and sectors.
In 2008, whilst Steve Dobson was a Corporate Energy Procurement Manager, he was approached by Eden Speciality Metal (a Large Steel Manufacturing Site in the UK, and Energy Intensive Industry (EII)) to “go to the market” and source Business Electricity Prices and Business Gas Prices for Energy Contract Renewal. Steve acted at the “expert buyer” and secured 2 year and 3 year Renewal Rates for Eden, after negotiated the best Tariff Prices.
Later in 2010 and 2012 Steve was re-appointed as an Outsourced Energy Procurement Manager for Eden’s Sister Company; The Marmon Group, and secured huge Cost Savings of around £175,000 per year for energy. It was then revealed that the Parent Company was Berkshire Hathaway (Part of Warren Buffet’s Business Empire; who at that time was “The Richest Man in the World“).
